About - The Long Shadow

Between 1975 and 1980, police found 13 women murdered in Yorkshire and Manchester, horrifying the nation and plunging society into a period of darkness and fear. 'The Long Shadow' gives a voice to the victims of serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, interweaving their stories alongside those of relatives, survivors, and the detectives who led the investigation. West Yorkshire Police were at the heart of a desperate five-year hunt to find the murderer, but missed opportunities hampered their pursuit.
